Ratio Calculator

Reduce a ratio to simplest form and compare it with equivalent ratios.

Enter your values

Your inputs stay in this browser.
Free tool

Enter the first part of the ratio.

Looks good.

Enter the second part of the ratio.

Looks good.

Privacy-friendly: your inputs are processed locally in your browser.

Formula

The ratio is simplified by dividing both values by their greatest common divisor when the values are whole numbers. Decimal inputs are scaled before reduction.

Simplified ratio = A ÷ gcd(A,B) : B ÷ gcd(A,B)

How it works

1

Enter both parts of the ratio.

2

Calculate to see the simplified form and decimal comparison.

3

Use the equivalent ratio to understand the relative proportion of the two values.

Important notes

Both inputs cannot be zero. For decimal inputs, Calquent scales the values before simplifying.

Ratios are dimensionless comparisons; the calculator does not attach units.
